The InSite has grown enormously since last June, when a crowd of five or
ten people in the room was considered an excellent number to have. The
number of conferences that we have has grown to- at present there are
more than 40 weekly conferences to choose from. The InSite is committed
to maintaining the quality of the material it provides, and will
continue to do so.

What we would like to know however is what you the subscriber to this
Newsletter would like to see in the way of conferences. If you have an
idea for a conference, or simply have a topic in mind that you would
like to see discussed, please feel free to contact me at:

                    CCCorinth@talkcity.com

We value your input to The InSite- and would be happy to develop
relevant conferences from the ideas that you submit.

*Your opinion is important!* *Your opinion is important!*

This week, I am not going to give you a description of all the
interesting things that are happening in The Story. I am not going to
tell you about the problems that Dee, Becca, Miquel and Chaz face in
there sophomore year (problems that you probably face every day-
problems that you could no doubt help them with). I will leave it to you
to check out The Story for yourselves

Hmmmm... well, OK- I will just tell you one little bit....

"My head hurts. My heart is beating so fast that I'm afraid maybe it's
just going to push its way right out of my chest. You're wondering
what's going on. It's this note. This friggin' note that I just found in
my locker from Becca."

Uh oh- what's wrong? Chaz has the note... and it doesn't look good...

New Addition to the site! ------- New Addition to the site!

Do we have some amazing interviews for you this edition!

                                --0--

"At age 12, Danny Seo founded Earth 2000 as a kids club that would "save
the world by the year 2000." For the past 8 years, he's used his
enthusiasm, and inborn sense of "knowing how to get things done" to
accomplish amazing things that benefit our environment and the animals
living in it. In the process, Danny has managed to attract all kinds of
support from politicians, the media, businesses, and of course, from
young people. (Earth 2000 now has 20,000 members!) Now, at age 20, with
the turn of the century just two years away, Danny is looking for ways
to inspire a whole new generation of environmentalists."

Read about Danny's incredible success in forming an environmental
organization that is getting results at HERE.

This week there is a new and very informative interview in the Planet
Earth section of The InSite web site. And what an interview! Liz Putnam
was the motivating force behind the creation of the Student Conservation
Association, an organization that to date has provided more than 30,000
young people with opportunities to improve the physical environment
while transforming themselves. The interview also provides a link to the
home page of the SCA

Liz Putnam is a truly remarkable person. Armed with an little more than
an idea, liz Putnam has been able to create an organization that not
only helps preserve the environment, but also helps give powerful
direction to young people's lives. Her descriptions of how two young
lives were changed for the better by involvement with the SCA makes
wonderful reading!

Make this interview a must read, then tell your friends about it!

This week in Solutions In Sight: Fires Within...

A Conversation with Adrian Perez and Jason Singer of Youthline

"When you put the power to run things... when you trust youth enough to
take the initiative and take the leadership role in their community and
to support and empower each other, dynamic and powerful things happen!
And that's the kind of program that Youthline is."

Communities in Harmony Advocating for Learning and Kids (CHALK) operates
Youthline, a phone-in help line for young people.

Youthline aims to help young people who may be experiencing stress to
make positive decisions regarding their lives. This week, The InSite
presents an interview with two people who are involved in this important
work. Read about their experiences HERE.

There is also a link to the Youthline web site, and should you need to
talk to someone...

The discussion boards are now back in operation after a few weeks where
a software problem made the boards inaccessible. We hope to be able to
have the backlog of material that needs to be posted to the boards
posted within the week. The Hey Terra! letters have all been posted to
the appropriate sites, and if you have a question for Terra, please feel
free to Email her.

Your friends can also send mail to Terra, so please let them know that
caring advice is available in The InSite :)

*************************************************************************

The InSite community motivates young people to discover real ways to
make the planet, as well as their own personal corners of it, a saner,
cleaner, more equitable place to live.

OK OK - you would expect me to write that, wouldn't you? And yep - if I
was asked to write about the aims and objectives of The InSite I would
write something like that. Fact is though- I didn't write it- it is part
of an independent review that has appeared recently on the web from
Controlled Chaos.

That's it for this edition. Do your friends a favor - tell them about
The InSite and #TheInSite. The next edition of

                           "OuttaSight!"

will be posted on 3/18/98, and an archive copy of "OuttaSight!" vol2
no4 will soon be available from The InSite home page:
