Sex and Sexuality:
"What is considered 'having sex'?"

Hey Terra,

If a guy kisses a girl's breasts, is that considered having sex? And will anything happen from it, if you know what I mean?

Wondering Girl

Dear Wondering Girl,

For most people "having sex" means sexual intercourse. "Sexual behavior" on the other hand, can include a whole range of behaviors from kissing to touching, etc.

If you're asking will you get pregnant if a guy kisses a girl's breasts, the answer is no. A girl can only get pregnant through sexual intercourse (genital to genital contact). But if you are asking "if a guy kisses a girl's breasts will it lead to the other stuff?" the answer is "Yes. That's very likely."

So here's a question for you. If a guy is kissing your breasts, how do you feel about it? Is it OK with you? And if it is, do you have some clear idea of what other sexual behavior IS and is NOT okay for you to do with a guy?

It's a good thing to know what you're OK with and what you're not OK with BEFORE you get into the heat of the moment (it's really hard to think clearly at times like that).

I hope this helps.

In friendship,

Terra
