If the fox calls again when the
night and day become one,
I'll stay sessile
should she be on her run.
Though the frost be gone from my home
and the nights somber and quick,
she's still seized my siblings
while her eyes flutter and flick.
I'm the only one left now,
unsuspected in my lair,
and I dare not make a cry, in that
her tentative ear may be there.
When that magical phase is completed
that wicked vixen will withdraw then,
and I may begin my trials
until the fox calls again.
