"I have a crush on a guy who likes my best friend."
Hey Terra, Let me just get straight to the problem before I burst! There's this guy whose had a crush on my best friend since kindergarten right. So for the past 4 years she (my best friend and little sister) keep insisting that she has no feelings for this guy. I keep asking her to try a friendly date with him but she keeps shutting my ideas to get to know him better down! Now the real problem is I've got a crush on him! We e-mail each other, but we never actually hang out because we're busy. Now I don't know if I should tell my friend that I like him cause she might feel I'm moving in on her territory. Should I let her know? Should I tell him first? I'm really confused. Please help before I go bonkers. Thanks. =-)Lonely and Confused |

Dear Lonely and Confused, Even though your friend insists she has "no feelings for this guy" It's very likely that as soon as she finds out you do, she'll feel differently towards him. Make sure you don't jeopardize the friendship by doing anything behind her back. (Think about the way you'd like to be treated if situation were reversed.) Talk to her and honestly tell her about the emails and how you feel about the guy. Then ask her how she would feel if you did something about your crush. If she gets all weird about the thought of you and him together, then just remain friends with the guy. Ultimately, your friendship with your best friend is more important than a crush.
